Wow, the chicks are now flying short distances. I went down to the garage & made sure they cannot get out! One Australorp flew higher than the waterer... made me worried about what might happen in the next couple of days? Arrive home & open the garage & 46 chicks storm out into the wilderness.
They still sleep anywhere & anyhow. This morning two were sleeping standing up with his/her head on the mini-platform. Some have asked how Austin (has a proven chicken-killing record) & Boomer (has the potential for a chicken-killing record) are taking to their new brothers & sisters. We Austin appears to have no interest in them at all! Boomer is confused, fascinated & jealous of them.... jealous especially when Susan sits in the garage & watches them.
Hopefully both will become very protective of them?
